Embracing the Magic of Micro Weddings: Celebrating Love Intimately Part One

Love is a beautiful thing, and what better way to celebrate it than by saying "I do" surrounded by your closest loved ones? In recent times, the wedding industry has witnessed a delightful shift towards micro weddings and intimate celebrations. Join us as we explore the allure of micro weddings and the magic they bring to the world of matrimony!

There is no “norm” in the wedding industry any longer, and its refreshing to be able to mix traditional and nontraditional aspects of marriage and love, and build wedding celebrations that truly feel like us as people and as couples!

I’d love to share a bit about my own experience as a wedding planner in this first part of this blog post, who has shifted from planning medium to large sized events (100-175 people), to planning intimate weddings under 50 people. While I still coordinate large weddings in the lower mainland and across lower Alberta, (hello my special love, Whonnock Lake Hall!), I truly love my small and intimate weddings that I get to help bring to life!

After over five years in the wedding industry in large scale events, I’ve shifted gears towards helping create and coordinate wedding events that feel real and truly like the couple! I have found myself stepping away from a lot of the glitz and glamour that the industry really pushed on wedding planners and couples alike, things that pressured people into events that appeared a certain way, but didn’t necessarily leave the couple any happier at the end of their special day. And I’ve moved towards helping create a wedding celebration that feels like you, whether that’s big or small budget, glitz and glam with 40 of your closest people and a whole weekend event, or even a small micro 12 person wedding at a lake! The possibilities have become truly endless with the normality of micro and intimate weddings, especially in British Columbia, where the potential choices for a wedding location is limitless with the smaller guest lists.

I can’t wait to continue to share tips and tricks here on the blog for planning your wedding and the magic of micro weddings. Check back next week for part two, where we chat through micro weddings and some of the beautiful parts about celebrating with smaller events!

Warmest wishes,
